As a teacher at St. Stanislav’s Institution in Ljubljana, Slovenia, I collected feedback from my students on the topic of Cyber Bullying. Out of 78 responses, here are some of the most interesting insights.
– We talked about online scams and violence, which are not just committed virtually but physically. This can lead to mental distress.
– Bullying is not okay and causes serious mental issues.
– The workshop was great, and I hope it helps someone.
– Cyberbullying is just as dangerous as physical bullying.
– I believe, unfortunately, this is definitely a part of today’s life. I think people tend to target others when they are struggling themselves.
– I think it’s right that we talk about this topic and raise awareness, as it is sometimes forgotten or ignored. I’m sorry that such things are happening more and more frequently and that they can happen very quickly.
– Cyberbullying is very harmful to young people because they haven’t developed their self-image yet.
– In my opinion, such lectures are very much recommended, as there should be more discussion about this issue.
– My opinion is that such behavior is childish and foolish. Usually, it comes from hurt people.
– I agree with the discussions we had in class, and I think that anyone who needs help deserves it.
– This is a very relevant topic that doesn’t get enough attention, and often it can’t be known because it’s hard for someone to speak up or sometimes hard to spot the abuse.
– I believe there’s too much peer violence.
– It’s not right, and mental abuse is just as important as physical abuse.
– It’s good that we talk about this because it’s happening more and more, and maybe someone among us is struggling with it. It’s important that we learn how to ask for help.
– It’s important that we talk about this, though it would be better if it came more from the youth than from adults.
– I found it interesting, and the group work was fun.
– It’s a very relevant topic because it’s so widespread online, and social media definitely has a huge influence on it.
